In a strategic move to boost Pakistan’s renewable energy sector, Sinotec Solar Private Limited is set to establish a massive three-gigawatt (3GW) solar panel manufacturing plant in Karachi, marking a significant step towards localizing solar panel production and reducing import reliance. The project, facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), also includes plans to support the production of dry batteries and electric-powered trucks, aligning with Pakistan’s green energy ambitions. This initiative is expected to attract substantial foreign direct investment (FDI), create numerous job opportunities, and contribute to socio-economic growth in the region. The move reflects Pakistan’s commitment to renewable energy development and energy self-sufficiency, signaling a positive shift towards a sustainable future.
